I don't think so but of all the cards clevo/sager models get on best with the quadro ones. Worth a shot. But it may not work due to no optimus.

    I've been using this RAM:

    KHX1600C9S3P1K2/8G

in my Sager NP8130 and it does overclock to 1600MHz.

Those modules failed and I'm planning to buy these:

Even though they're only 1.35V, can they run at 1.5V without any problems? And what mechanism do they use to "auto overclock" in laptops? It's not the XMP profile, is it?

No it's the spd they use. 1.5v should be fine.

How would I know the SPD of the new kit that I just bought then?

It depends on the kit you buy, the SPD will be set to the advertised speeds and latency.

Anyone is using Windows 8.1 Update 1? My wifi (Qualcomm Killer Wireless-N 1102) is dropping constantly.

I tried disabling the wifi adapter, and used another USB wifi dongle, the DWA-125 from D-Link, but wifi still drops. Is anyone having the same problem?

Meaker, can you confirm that this model does not have the iGPU activated and therefore no optimus? So we can overclock the display?

    This quote from the OP:

Also, another question, does the heatsink differ in size from the 560M and 580M (151HM/150HM)? Like they have a bigger cooling capacity and runs cooler if the 580 heatsink is fitted onto the 560?

Yes no IGP active, all driven off the dedicated GPU.

The thermal pad arrangement is a bit different, the most recent SM series heatsinks do fit and they are improved so grabbing one of them is a good idea.

I'd like to upgrade my graphics card from the 560m, but from the browsing around I've done it's not clear to me what the best option to pursue is. I've heard some people say 580m which would necessitate upgrading the power supply to a 180w (and possibly the heat sink? I'm also not clear on that). But I've also heard some people more recently mention the 670m. (I'm not sure if that necessitates upgrading the power supply?)

    Any recommendations?

Also - Someone mentioned to me if I'm going to buy a card on say, Ebay, that it not only has to be the correct type (Say 580m) but it also has to further be from a Sager, for instance, if it's from Alienware it won't work. Is that true? I've been unable to find an answer on that one.

    Thanks.

7970M V1.2 (not v1.1) PCB with HM bios or 680M with first release BIOS I believe are the two best options. Both would need a 180W brick and would need to be sager/clevo cards. The heatsink can just have the pads re-arranged or you can upgrade to a heatsink from an SM series.
