Have you tried updating BIOS, EC firmware, and graphics drivers? If yes, then the issue can be hardware-related which requires MSI to perform repair under warranty terms.
Get it done asap before the warranty runs out though.

Any plans to modify the GT80S with multi-color keyboards?

It's always possible, but nothing on the horizon yet.

I would -love- to know if battery life on the GS63 will be better than that of the current GS60.

They should last about the same due to very minor difference in TDP.

    Regarding GT80S:

    1. In a system with two 980 in sli and two 950 pro in raid 0. The cpu only has 16 pcie lanes. Each 980 requires at least 6 pcie gen 3 lanes and each 950 pro requires 4 pcie gen 3 lanes all together the system requires at least 20 pcie lanes to not be bottlenecked by the cpu. Is there a bottleneck? Why or why not (PLX chip)? How bad is this bottleneck (in web browsing, game loading, rendering, mega tasking/vm etc.)?

    2. NVME m.2 drives are know thermal throttle to fast harddrive speeds within seconds of heavy load, the m.2 slots in the gt80s appear to have zero cooling/airflow doesn't this make them completely useless/worse then sata ssd?

Is there any word on when the GS40 Phantom 6QD (the version with a 960M and mini-dock compatibility) will become available for purchase? It has been advertised on MSI's website for over a month now, so we know it exists, but no resellers appear to have it yet, which seems a bit odd.

Will the GS63 offer better maintenance options than the GS60?

When you have to repaste the CPU/GPU on the GS60, it's obviously required to disassemble the whole unit and pull out the motherboard, because the heat conductors are on the backside instead of the front side. It should be accessable directly after removing the bottom cover...

Should be similar if not identical. But right now it's early to say anything since nobody got their hands on one yet.
