Hopefully that is the case. Hoping to see benchmarks tomorrow.

Someone called it out as a Chinese benchmarking app.

It could also be the Max-q version which has it's base clock at ~750 vs 1350 on the CLEVO/max-p models. In addition please remember we don't know the testing environment yet.

I think the benchmarking software is simply benching the tflops of the card.

I don't think nvidia will make the 2080 max-q slower than a full laptop 2070. It's not good for sales.

I think it should at the very least match the laptop 2070 in terms of performance. Last generation's 1080 max-q was very slightly ahead of the full laptop 1070 and bear in mind that the cuda core gap between the XX80 and XX70 has increased going from the 10 series gpus to the 20 series gpus.

    2080 vs 2070
    (2944 vs 2304, 640 difference)

    1080 vs 1070
    (2560 vs 2048, 512 difference)

Someone on reddit mentioned that the benchmark was done on a razer blade advanced with an 80w tdp 2080 max-q.

And yes, the 1070 was a max-p or regular laptop card.

Well, nvidia did say that laptop manufacturers are free to set the TDP on the 2080 max-q laptops. We know the lower limit is 80w but not the upper limit.

    There's still hope I guess
