Creating a thread for the 20xx GPU discussions as they are close to release.

As per a chinese leak for the 2060 RTX laptop, performance seems lower than the 1070 which seems disappointing :(

A 1070 Max Q scores around 6500-6700 so i guess its on par with the 2060.

The TDP is identical between the 1070 Max-Q and 2060 Notebook (80-90W). I guess this stands to reason, though I would have hoped for some additional perf-per-watt. A little underwhelming.

Yeah , i was hoping as well for some improvement in performance per watt but it does seem like there isnt much. Guessing, this is good news for buyers who can score deals on GTX clearance models and have no interest in the RTX ray tracing marketing.

They might be putting more stock on the 11 series that are supposedly coming. At this point the 20 series is just garbage imo.

I don't see it as anything bad, consider the fact that 11 is out of the benchmark cycle and the fact that I was told the 2060 should only be 100$ more than the 1060 and you get a GPU killer mid. The real card of the series worth looking into is the 2080, which by desktop numbers is slightly faster than the 1080ti.

But right now, you can find great deals for laptops with GTX 1070, so same performance with 2GB VRAM extra for less $:

Paying extra $ for RT gimmick, no thanx.

While that's true, don't discount the fact that the drivers for the 1070 are in their prime while the RTX 2060 drovers are in their infancy.

Forgive me if I don't panic over a Chinese 3DMark11 screenshot.

So, I wouldn't expect a "RTX miracle" from Nvidia.
