Look at alienware amplifier videos. m15x use 6700hq and gtx 1070 and that processor do not bottleneck DESKTOP card. 6700hq is enough for single card. Do not know about sli, might be a little bit too weak.

I agree with you. Quad core cpu 6700hq is good for even 1080 if you ask me.

I think an i7-6700HQ will be fine, I can't see it bottlenecking a 1070. I don't have CPU bottlenecks in the games I play with my 2.6GHz Sandybridge i7, so the 6700HQ is fine, any i7 CPU will be fine unless you buy a 120Hz screen - then it's worth getting the best CPU.

in the end, its not about opinion, but usage scenario and application :) cpu-dependent games will always profit from a faster cpu, whereas gpu-bottlenecked ones will profit from moar graphics powah!

Sadly one thing that needs to be addressed in the 6700hq vs 6820hk is cooling, if it isn't up to snuff you won't be able to run either at a high speed. A 6820hk is worthless if you can't keep it cool.

    Ordered Rog 752VM (1060gtx) @1899e in France.

1070 was 2500 euros so too expensive for me.

Could not resist to that 17' screen.

Should be delivered on Tuesday !!!!

    ^^^^ THIS.

It is entirely possible I am biased against the CPU because my application is bound by the CPU. Other users who don't play what I play may find that they have no problems. Now that I think of it, I run a heavily modded Skyrim install on both my laptop (4720, 980m, 1080p) and desktop (4770k@4.5, 970, 1440p). Although the desktop does run better, the laptop still runs very good with comparable FPS. In that usage scenario (skyrim), the weaker CPU is not an issue for FPS, but for Mechwarrior online, it is. Your individual usage scenario could be completely different.
