The 3090 looks great! What motherboard do you use?

I am getting a 2080ti tomorrow. This will be my (3rd) 2080Ti that I have owned. The last time, the deal fell through on a local 2080Ti Strix "Seller backed out". Well, this seller has a several of them, so it should go just fine.

Is this one a Strix liked the backed out one or other brand? Didn't want to wait for Big Navi announcement? Depending on performance and stock on hand, prices *could* trend back down on used models at the worst or perhaps a Big Navi card is in your future?

Anything over $500 is a bad purchase. I hope you got it cheap.

It is a founders edition. I’m watercooling it immediately, then Galax bios flash, and then soldering on the 8ohm shunts “already have them”. So that’ll give me 532 watts of available power.

My last 2080Ti was consistent at 17,250 in timespy graphics, and I only had 440 watts due to it being a non-A, and it was 100% reliable in games too. It would lock on to 2,130Mhz and never back off. It pulled over 40K in fire strike graphics.

This is only about 15% slower than a RTX3090. And around 3-5% slower than a RTX3080. Plus I get an extra 1GB of Vram. All for not needing to come out of pocket at all for the cost of the GPU. So this is just easier for me.

If I could go back, I would have never sold my 2080Ti, because it too was already within 2 or 3% of a 3080. They are beastly once setup right.

The only way to make the 3080 really worth it is to give it the same treatment. Good watercooling, and the stacking the shunts for power sensing mod. Then it’ll fly!!

You should do Apple vs. apple comparison. Somewhat wrong comparing a modded 2080Ti vs. stock 3080.

All I am saying is, any 2080Ti can get within a couple percent of a RTX3080. And the RTX3080 is unobtainable. So the average individual cannot compare the two at all.

And that is the definition of value, what you can get out of a product. And I can get a 3080 out of a 2080Ti lol.

    And I’d value a 2080Ti more than $500 bucks.

A 3070 is gonna be $500 suggested price on October 31st on its official “Sell out day” so I’d imagine $800-$1000 dollars to buy one. And 8GB of Vram just doesn’t cut it anymore.

I would take a 2080Ti FE over a 3070 any day. And a 3080 is around $1,200 USD. So the 2080Ti falls in the middle for pricing. And can overclock well on watercooling and perform just as good as a 3080.
