Because I run my CPU at 4.8Ghz with 1.275Volts, and if I run a -12 offset it still runs the same voltage of 1.275 at only 3,600Mhz. But, if I run all of my cores at just 4.4Ghz with no AVX 512 offsets I can just use 1.125V and the temperature difference is insane, but the performance would be much faster being 800Mhz faster. I guess what I am saying is, a lower frequency doesn't help temperatures with a AVX offsets. Only lower voltage will help temperatures.

Oh and, 4.4Ghz with 1.275V would be physically impossible for me with the ADIA64 AVX512 Stress test. haha. I may as well be trying to run 4.8Ghz during a AVX 512 load. it isn't the frequency that isn't possible, its just the voltage.

4.4Ghz at 1.125V with a AVX 512 LOAD, consumes more power and puts out more heat than my CPU at 4.8Ghz with 1.275V running real bench.

AVX 3 is crazy hard to manage.

I wonder if intel is going to ever compete with this, seems unlikely. This 3990X destroys my 3 year old 4.8Ghz 7980XE.

I can only muster about 34% of that massive 32,898 score.

The Xeon 3175X performs worse than the entry TR 3960X... Hopefully something from intel soon I'm not to fond of the multi die layout of the Ryzen chips...

If I could find a good deal on a 3175X I’d certainly buy one, certainly for good overclocking headroom, say $1,500 already used and abused haha. But then the motherboard also comes in to play. And they are very expensive! AMD has offered a good value here though.

Why do you not like the multidie layout?

Requires faster ram to bridge the latency im sure it will be improved with DDR5... I see the TR 3960X for 1200 CAD Used these days maybe you should look into one...

I just found a really good comparison on YouTube. It is maybe a Japanese women overclocking both of them and comparing. I am shocked she only has 17 subscribers, the hardware budget is pretty massive in this video, with extreme cooling as well.

Depends on. The bot is a mess and its a luck of draw to load pages. It's still more fun with Intel chips. And AMD Ryzen still need more cores to compete if both max out the overclock potentiale with equal amount cores.

Well 5.4 VS 4.5 of course I was referring to more of an everyday clock maybe 4.5 VS 5? The Xeon would still come ahead in gaming but I have seen cases where the 3960X Beats out the previous 2990WX and the Xeon 3175X
