Yes, I believe so. Unless one is ready to go extreme, it performs somewhere along the rest....

What did you do differently, other than lower the core clock?

Yeah, weird it shows triple channel. I wonder what the deal is with that? Are the memory speeds the same as quad channel, or did the read/write/copy speeds go down as well?

Ive been in many of the FABS at Micron, as I was working in the construction boom (10 to 15K workers, small city) in the mid to late 90's out there. Maybe Micron puts a tighter leash on their DDR as apposed to Samsung? I have no respect for Samsung as a memory maker for what they did in the 90's by flooding the market with cheap ram to undercut Micron. I guess thats business though, but I just heard about it more than most, since the local news covered it.

    Excellent. Thanks for the info.

Making the "eww," comment has nothing to do with being a fan of something over the other. It is no different than your views toward soldered laptops. It's just an expression of dissatisfaction.

Again, there are only two brands...micron and samsung that make the GDDR6 so there are only two to critique, dislike, like, favor, whatever... I just choose to prefer the one that has the marking "samsung," because it is better than micron. If you prefer micron, that's fine... it's not about brand war here. :)

The simple fact is that Samsung is far superior to Micron is just a simple fact. Nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't matter if it's american or not. There is a reason why companies like EVGA, HOF etc...use Samsung. Simple fact. Nothing more...

To make it very clear, the intent of saying "eww," is just basically saying..."yea it sucks that it can't perform better, what a bummer..." -

I'm sure you understand based on the strong principles you have toward favoring the best over the weak. :)

In this case micron is the weak and samsung is the strongest.

Brand and principle unfortunately does not produce performance here... I too tend to favor american brands, but unfortunately just because they are home grown doesn't mean they are good. In fact, in most sectors we fall way behind the World.

For regular gamers, that's correct it makes zero difference.

Keep an eye out for SKHynix (Worlds 2nd biggest semi conductor giant)... they are up and coming with GDDR6. It'll be nice to have another player in the game.

I wish they didn't go with the AIO with the KP lol.. it (the cooling) looks un-proportional to me...
