I've been running 1.43V@4.8GHz for years with no degradation. Literally, since around 2016 with no issue. The only degradation I've seen on my chips is the 4790K got a little degraded, but since that happened on my first chip, which was killed when the laptop died due to a surge, I haven't really seen it on the second chip since then.

Also, that guy that had degradation had, at other instances, done things that would accelerate degradation when playing above 5GHz separate from his daily driver and voltage, IIRC. Then there is just silicon lottery and natural degradation of chips.

If people are afraid for Cpu degradation and intend to have the chips several years at max clock speed then try hold it around 1.36v or lower and at lowest possible temp. But there is no fasit... Some chips is more fragile than other. None is 100% equal. Some will faile before they reach expected life span and some will have happy life 15 years down the road:)

That's what I'm trying, TBH if it lasts like 5 years at full performance I'll be happy, it doesnt need to work 15 years, this is a gaming rig :D.

Btw: 1.306 max value in Prime95 :). So I'll let it here.
I tried 5,2Ghz but voltage muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch higher xD.

Yes, it might not be a "one size fits all" when it comes to individual retail units and degredation, perhaps some examples of 6700K will decay quicker than other examples of 6700K even if treated at the same temperature/load/voltage, etc. All we can do is communicate our experiences, and then others can judge what risks they're willing to take with regard to voltages & temperatures. There's bound to be trends & averages that describe degredation for any given model of CPU, but we're not really privy to that info. We have ballpark ideas on what is safe/dangerous.

Congrats! Excellent score... I just got back from traveling; was eager to come home, but was faced with this...

    or

To fire up the A51M lol... To be honest I'm much more excited about working on the desktop, but from seeing @Prema first post about the 27K that was pretty motivating...

We shall see if this thing can break the 27/31 sound barrier ...
