True, I imagine the Sharp panel is more expensive than the Innolux one - though it's been documented that the Sharp one is more focused towards the photo & video editing market, hence why it's ended up in the XPS 15.

It truly is a great panel but quite frankly in a way I'm glad it's not fitted to the Aero 15 as gaming on it would be horrendous.

All being well I should receive my new Aero 15 sometime this week (Still on pre-order - It was supposed to come back in stock at Scan UK on the Friday just gone!) When I receive it I will do a personal opinion between the panel it comes with and my own recent experience with owning the XPS 15.

The member on here, iunlock who is maybe from Europe, as well as me did quote that the Aero 15 he's testing at the moment does come with the Innolux panel - there's yet to be anyone else who currently owns the Aero 15 to confirm otherwise I believe.

    Liam.

    Response to me from Gigabyte:

    "
    Dear Douglas,

    Thanks for your mail.

Please kindly note that there's no recalls for AERO 15. As checked, the information is because of the miscommunication. The consumer who posted the news has also updated on 5/11/2017.

The issue was that the previous version of Smart Manager mis-detect the remaining power volume. The newer version has been upload. Users who purchased AERO 15 could update the Smart Manager in Smart Update for your information.

    Best Regards,
    GIGABYTE"

It's pretty much concrete now that no such recall ever existed.

Fingers crossed that UK retailers take new stock this week, I'm still waiting on some more news for my pre-order from Scan UK.

    Liam.

It does sound like there may have been at least an unofficial "internal" recall, in order to update units that hadn't yet shipped. That would explain listings and stock disappearing from retailer websites, and small delays to update inventory. Granted, a software update to an optional utility to monitor battery life hardly seemed enough to justify all the fake news that spread.

The photo or video isn't showing for me, what was it?

I got another question, it's regarding the coil noise. I can hear a constant coil noise if i put my ear close to the bottom left hand corner of "C" side (the side with keyboard) of the laptop. The noise is not noticeable for normal use, but it is very annoying if you put your ear within 10 cm from that corner. This issue exists no matter what, i set the fan speed to quiet, it is still there, so definitely not caused by the fan. I suspect it has something to do with the SSD, cause the same location on the right corner does not have the noise.

What is the condition of your laptop regarding this issue?

Why are you using your laptop with your ear 10cm from the left corner?
