Well, using Smart Update, there are still some updates showing up for Smart Manager, Gigabyte Fusion and other applications sometimes.
It's true that it has been quite quiet over the last few months but there were definitely several updates for V7 when the V8 was already out.

What are your idle temperature for the 8750H?

At idle with fans on normal and HWmonitor open, my Aero 15 X9 has CPU temps hover around 50 in the range of 48-52C, with occasional excursions up to ~60 when something happens in the background.

    These temps are normal, right?

Indeed, the update situation is just bad.

Have a look at Gigabyte's Aero 15 driver download page. No graphics driver released this year, the most recent is dated 2018 and has release number 391.01 while official nvidia drivers are at 430.86

(Not-so-)Smart Update even suggests to remove newer driver versions (installed by the honorable windows update itself) in favour of older ones(see highlights). To make things worse, it does not offer the most recent drivers available on the driver download page.

I assume that this situation will befall newer Aero 15 modells as soon as they are out of warranty.

I think my mobo is dying.

I replaced the transcend ssd because it stopped booting and was having corruption issues. Replaced with a brand new 970 Evo plus, and 2 weeks later this ssd is failing to boot. I tried both ssd slots.

Anyone have a similar problem? I'm hesitant to start an rma because they'll probably just try to replace the ssd. It seems likely the ssds are becoming corrupt and/or the nvme controller is dying. Any other ideas?

Edit: just checked the ssd and the main windows partition has went from NTFS to Raw. Looks like it is corrupting the drive or just failing to see it properly.

I just got my laptop back from repairs - replaced mainboard as it wasn't charging. Took almost 2 months as the mainboard was shipped from Taiwan

Yeah, sure, "shipped from Taiwan" entirely justifies why it took 2 months.
In 2019 postal services look like that:

Does anyone else have a problem where the screen seems dimmer than usual even at full brightness?
