Posted in a different thread but: Is there a way to disable the lit up GIGABYTE logo on the back part of the laptop? Any guidance is much appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no. It will be lit up no matter what.

I have no experience repasting so not a good idea. And I was playing with the computer on my work desk.

Besides at $2300 I shouldn't be expected to risk damaging my computer just for it to not melt itself apart - that's ridiculous, I'm sorry.

I just got my Aero 15x last week. I haven't had a chance to do any major testing. Did a clean install but I'm having trouble downloading SmartUpdate

I downloaded smartupdate from the website [3.9.1] but once downloaded, there is a new update available 3.9.5 but it will not download properly. It just fails each time & then I have to re-download 3.9.1. Has anyone else had this issue?

I had that issue. I just kept trying, and clicking on both the links.
Eventually I was able to update.

Ok thank you! I guess I will keep trying! I stopped after trying twice. Good to know it worked eventually!

I don't think there's a way to disable it. Isn't it just a "window" that allows the screen backlight through the other side?

My Aero 15 came with Windows 10 Home (not pro). Since it doesnt have Bit Locker to crypt SSD with TPM, I wanna ask you guys, how do you keep your files safe on laptop? I mean do you use some 3rd party software to crypt your files to keep it save if your laptop will be lost or stolen?
I have Samsung evo 850 SSD, I heard it has hardware encryption, but I dont know how to use it :) google not helped.
