Wanted to say the price must be unacceptable, but who knows, taiwan is most rich country in the world.
It's MXM 3.1, so yes, pin mod is needed.

Sure, if cost isn't a factor in your decision or you have a need for it, an RTX5000 would be even faster. There are some with MXM 3.0, but you can expect to pay $1,500+ for it. Considering the P4000 was around $300, I don't think the RXT5000 is five times faster. There are definitely situations where this would be necessary or very useful, however, for my mobile workstation that uses a 1920 x 1080 resolution screen, the P4000 gets the job done. However, I did recently acquire a P4200 that I plan to replace the P4000 with soon. I also plan to shim the CPU to try and get the heatsink flush and also tighter fitting. I will post new benchmarks once I get it up and running.

Core position is non standard so the heatsink would not fit.

    Exactly.
More, in the 15.6 model the fan will not fit.

Updating BIOS is not difficult, it just requires a little reading. I'm pretty sure it's been covered many times over here, but I will provide some info below:

    1. Use a program named Rufus to make a USB boot disk that boots to DOS and put the new BIOS on there with it (Not in a folder)
    Download Rufus here
    2. Set windows to boot from USB and boot into DOS from the USB
    3. Enter commands to flash the BIOS

Here is a better step by step

There will probably be a little reading for you to do these, but these are the steps and whether someone writes out all of the specifics or copy/paste it from somewhere, you will still have to read it and follow it.

Below is an example of how I would start searching these steps I provided.

So long as the donor bios has the same white list.
