    You want to never overheat? Put two bottlecaps under the backsides on the foot rests, done. You will never overheat.

    Or use a big old laptop cooler like a Thermaltake Massive 20.

    I like the Thermaltake Massive 20 for it's sheer size, solid build quality, metal grill and the humongous fan. And I got it dirt cheap in a black friday sale so nothing to complain here. It's been serving me well for almost 2 years now. Never used the RGB on it though. :D

    LOL, question is how long will you own it? I've never seen anybody go through hardware like you do. :D

    P870TM boots fine and works with a 970m w/ modded drivers. I suspect the 170 will too. Might as well test as many cards as you can while you have it in your possession. :cool:

    I had the lid shut on mine for a couple of days, hooked up to 2 external displays, keyboard and mouse. Didn't seem to have any heat issues.

    However, I also have it on a stand with adjustable angles, so I gave it a 45 degree angle for plenty of air flow underneath

    Yah, no overheating issues on this machine. Been playing tonnes of games on it with no issues.
