That's a bit concerning. So Clevo doesn't "officially" want the 10-core in there.

The display and sound are welcome though.

Til this day my P870DM3 was the loudest. Two subwoofers doe?? Must resist...

With the narrow bezels coming.... Looks like the keyboard will be even smaller than what you get on todays EOL Clevo's. Unified Keyboard is equal retarded as Unified Heatsink:vbbiggrin:

And nice seeing Clevo won't support the 10th gen mainstream flagship chips:oops: With up to 300W Cpu power not much cooling headroom is left for the 200w graphics. Apple design everywhere.

The i9-10900K has a base clock TDP of 125W and a Turbo TDP of 250W.

The i9-9900K in comparison was a 95W/210W rated chip.

Most I've pushed through the 9900K was 173W during CBR20 at 5Ghz. So, I think the thermals will be the initial wall people will hit.

It's up to the MB manufacturers what specs they want offer.

"But, as already noted, this is more of a theoretical consideration on many motherboards. Asus, for example, has already released the Core i9-9900K for 210 instead of just 119 watts, with the Core i9-9900KS nothing has changed. Also, the time span is not specified as 8 seconds as with Intel, the mainboards there often give 28 seconds"

They can even provide higher throttle temp target than in Intel's official specifications. The well known 115C temp treshold as an example.

    i9-10900K ICC Max ~250A

For comparison a P870TM1 motherboard switches off at ~180A and a P870DM motherboard at ~120A...

The P870TM1 Motherboard was orginally intended for 8th gen (8700K) with headroom for more. Of course there wasn't need for Z390 but cut of at 180A insted for 193A. What with the x170 MB?

Edit. And the 10th gen unlocked BGA will be 8 cores. Put more cores would make a bc86kg7 aka HOT.gif Mess.

I expect Clevo created the cooling on x170 for more efficient 10/7nm chips. Aka No need to redesign the cooling and chassis the coming years.
