I sure hope they move away from the clockblock nonsense.

Chiplets and only 10 cores? That would be pretty sad at this point.

It is quite obvious that there will have to be something like an X270 to allow sustained maximum performance with the best possible hardware available to laptops in the future. I am sure they are only withholding it while they are waiting for that new 19.5" 144+ Hz QHD screen to be ready :D

Still hard to justify what would be a larger more expensive chassis for maybe 5% more performance.

You mean +12.5% bigger chassis/cooling only will gain 5% better performance? A 3rd fan with own grills would make a major difference for etc Cpu cooling. This if the GPU part of cooling is already good enough in the smaller 17 inch chassis.

Yes, power goes up exponentially at the higher clocks and performance scales a bit less than linearly.

It wasn't only 5% if you compared the P775 and the P870 chassis and also took fan noise into account.

Unfortunately a really good bigger screen that could also convince buyers to go for a bigger chassis does not exist. Asus could do it some time ago and they did not exactly produce that many units of the laptop model that used the screen so you got to wonder if it wouldn't be possible for Clevo, MSI and others to approach a screen manufacturer and ask for something that is a big enough step up from 17.3". Imo with slim bezels the minimum size for that would be 19" and 16:9 even though the last laptops that had 18.4" screens could even house a 20" 16:10 screen with the current slim bezel design.
