I can't see them changing the MXM3.0B connection as it is a new interface and its able to take a high wattage. There's only 2 different MXM3.0B GPUs series that can fit in any of the P870km slots and thats the 9 series gtx MXM desktop and the 10 series MXM desktop. So hopfully the 11 series (are what ever the name they will brand Volta) will fit in, thats if they don't change the connection. I hope so because I will buying 2x as soon as :)

It will all depend on the BIOS requirements of the GPUs and design requirements of the range.

Don't forget that it also may depend on how much they fear GPU upgrades will impact new Clevo sales. That may have more bearing on it than anything else.
Brace yourself. They will lose money on end-user upgrades, so if recent history is any indicator they will do something on purpose to screw us again. I expect the same dishonorable behavior from MSI as well.

I can tell you this much... I am 90% certain I will not buy a new high performance laptop again in the next 5 years. If they screw us out of GPU upgrades again that will change to 99.9% certain and I will become a laptop-hating troll like the people from Overclock.net that we have been at enmity with for as long as I can remember. It will all become mobile filth, even if it is not BGA. Homey don't play dat. Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me.

It's not been a factor so far, more design requirements and lack of input from Nvidia.

Yeah, NVIDIA has become about as worthless to us as the tits on a boar. They've really turned into unethical losers over the past couple of years. I wish the worst for them financially. Their stupidity certainly isn't doing us any favors.
