A lot of people on here talk about G-sync enabled cards. With g-sync chips on them..

Aren't all GTX cards from the 660ti up G-sync compatible? Isn't that what it says on the Nvidia site?
They don't make old cards anymore...wasn't it a circuit we could even install on older monitors? ( a year and a half ago this was a big topic)

So why all the talk about g-sync gtx 1080's and non - Gsync 1080's?

Mobile g-sync has no special hardware, so to get their licensing fees Nvidia does a firmware/driver level feature lockout based on a few resistors on the GPU and the display hardware ID.

I'd like some help in this thread as opposed to creating a separate one on the particularities of my issue.

    A bit of a preface ...

It's been well over two weeks since I ordered a P870DM3-G from PCSpecialist.co.uk. The order has been stuck in pre-production limbo for a while, so, I enquired about the matter today, only to learn that the 4K panels are currently not available and they have no E.T.A. on when to expect these going forward. They also confirmed that moving to the 1080p panel would allow the production to progress as these are available. Honestly, I just opted for the 4K panel because it was being offered for a relatively lower price point than other local competitors. The price difference between the 4K and 1080p panels being £99.

    My question ...

Would it be advisable to wait a bit longer for some kind of update on the 4K panels or is the 1080p panel a likely better choice? I ask this because I've heard various anecdotes praising the broader quality and resilience of the 1080p screen (in terms of refresh rate overclocking, etc.) in comparison to some of the inherent limitations of the 4K panel. Again, any insights -- and even advice -- on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Your clocks are moving a bit, have you adjusted the monitoring tick rate or is it default (so the same as mine)?
