Not a title I've heard of but like I said desktop sli testing will show you as the 1080s perform very close to the reference cards.

So my 9870-g has 1 x 16GB DDR4 2400MHz sodimm that's oem [huwei i think], its from XOTICPC (and iirc they are just a middleman for sager or were when i bought it). i have a junk laptop, the msi gt72s 6qe and was thinking of taking some parts, like hd, m2 ssd, and the ram.

ram's the thing im wondering on, can i put in that ram which is gskill 16GB [8GB x 2] 2400MHz DDR4 SO-DIMM Laptop Memory? ive not looked at my ram to see if its a single stick or two, but it's also a different brand.

It's not highly strung performance stuff so it should be fairly tolerant. Worst case scenario you may need to be patient while it trains on first boot after nvram reset, or troubleshoot by swapping the sticks around the various slots.

So long as the speed and CAS latency match (the number they usually quote like CL12) then you are fine to put it together with your existing stick :)

Factory IHS was concave resulting a difference of 6 degrees between coolest & hottest core @ 48 core/cache. Slapped an aftermarket rockit88 IHS onto the 6700k and the delta is now within 2 degrees. Not sure if overall temps are lower as ambient is high at the moment so tough to compare.

    Pro's - flat IHS
<EDIT thanks Meaker!>Con's - lapping the factory cpu would have returned the same result for zero outlay - just be wary of reducing the overall height of your IHS

Lapping can reduce z height though.

Is the image on startup is an urgent issue? I think prema even if he was around might prioritize something else. I don't think they have a number of the website so you will have to wait on the online system.
