Nah, it's a gimmick. Black traps heat radiation, either keeping heat longer or absorbing heat from its surroundings.

Hence the outfit of black metal bands; it keeps them warmer in the frozen north  .

So I guess it's only painted, not anodized? :D

Dear Clevo Santa, is there any hope for an X99 or Skylake E laptop someday?

And is there a 15" variant of this panel?

No!!! X99 is an incompatible chipset, therefore impossible!!! Now if you meant socket 2011v3, I can't answer that (I believe v3 is what it is up to for Skylake E)...

Both, because otherwise the dye wouldn't stick to the copper. Maybe in ten years or so we'll have proper graphene heatsinks (and -pipes), then the black colour would be warranted.

Reading all of these advancements really gets me excited about what is going to be available when I finally look to sell the batman in a year or two. I hate to admit it but the DM in my opinion looks a little better than the batman :/ just not enough for me to want to sell it :)

I mean either X99 or Skylake E, hope to see something with more than 4 cores.

Was disappointed to learn the new Skylake mobile Xeon E3-1500M v5 are merely BGA quad core i7 with ECC memory and lower clock.

Look up K-core by thermacore! :) also research graphene heat pipes and limitations! If you can afford the prototype (may require a purchase of 5), then you get copper with graphene as a core, get the vias to allow a break in between the graphene so the solid copper allows the heat to enter the graphene along the axis with great heat transference, then put better heat pipes on, and K-core radiator fins... Just a suggestion...
