I am actually hoping for official support down the line...but I guess there is always plan-b.

I think the rest of us know it as plan - P... just in case.;) And having a Mythlogic P770ZM-G, as I understand it, they had the G up the line. :)

Modded vbios files BGA chips are harder to find/implement so it applies to both really.

Looks like you can order barebones versions of this laptop without the CPU, and buy it separately. Considering the GPU is at 200 watts, I think it might be a good idea to get the skylake 6700 at 65w instead of the 6700k at 95w.

Nvidia is really milking Maxwell. I think this suggests that their next graphics iteration will be a huge jump in performance.

Considering this includes the latest iteration of Maxwell, I wonder if it might be possible to SLI another 980 through the thunderbolt connection. That'd be really cool.

zamoeba, it's always best to get the best CPU the frame offers, especially if you are getting the best GPU. They need each other :)

You can always detune the 6700k, but the 6700 is what it is without option for much more. You could replace / upgrade the CPU, but then you have orphaned a 6700, and who wants that when they can get a 6700k?

Tis why I said that MSI would be breaking an advertising law by including any BGA GPUs, and that the fact that mobile 980s are in their laptops mean that MXM variants WILL exist.

I'd recommend this method too, plus it's hard to say what the best balance point will be before anything comes out.
