It's tricky, a thermal camera would do it.

Cheaper is with a coil and a LED, in both cases you have to do it without the heatsink.

Also worth just physically inspecting it all.

    About conversation on Vbios.

What is the difference between desktop GTX1070/1080 Vbios and mobile one?
To flash a new Vbios, do we have to use an external bios programmer or can we do that through a software?
If I understand, flashing a GTX1080 allow to use it into the P750DM2-G.

Good news, installed the GTX 1080 into my P750DM2-G and it worked straight away! I lost G-SYNC but that's minor.

It originally had 86.04.56.00.2A with UEFI GOP version 0x30006, and was recognized by the BIOS and in Windows. I flashed 86.04.2A.00.2B with UEFI GOP version 0x30002 anyways.

One thing to note. Drivers installed fine under Windows 10 but I was not able to get drivers to load under Windows 7. Not sure why. PCI Hardware ID is VEN_10DE&DEV_1BE0&SUBSYS_75071558&REV_A1 any suggestions?

Different firmware and difference between brands due to the more complicated setup. They can be flashed in place.

Got it to work. I had to edit nvcvi.inf and change "VEN_10DE&DEV_1BE0&SUBSYS_77081558" to "VEN_10DE&DEV_1BE0&SUBSYS_75071558"

I regenerated a cat file with inf2cat and then used signtool to sign and timestamp the cat. Installed drivers regularly through the Nvidia setup and they work flawlessly.

Guys. Is it safe to apply thermal paste on gpu and cpu if on the copper heatsink of a laptop there is dried liquid metal that is hard to remove? Wont it cause issues?
