It turns out it wasn't working right. Cracked open the laptop and replaced the thermal pads with grease on both the Video Card and GPU. Fans were also clogged up with dust.

Max is now 80c on full load.

    Hi,

I have a Sage 8652 / P650SG and would like to install a SSD and boot from it, Samsung 960 NVME. I understand that the current bios might not support NVME. have this been confirmed to not work? Do you happen to know if the Prema Mod adds support to NVME drive?

If a new bios works (either prema mod or updated from manufacturer), where can in download the latest bios for this machine, i went to premamod.com but all I get is a page asking for an email address.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Regards,
    forbitel.

The 860 series is SATA based so will work without issue.

    Hi,

I too was looking for the Prema Mod bios for P650SG but didn't have much luck. Ideally you want to get a bios update from your notebook vendor.

I did come across a Mirror of the Clevo bios repository in my search but didn't try these http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-bios-older-models-released-in-after-2014.790474/

Those should run without an issue. My only doubt is if the NVME protocol will be activated. I'll try to talk to @John@OBSIDIAN-PC to see if he has a NVME SSD in stock so I can test it when I visit him no April 30th.

Also, If I can grab a 144Hz IPS screen, I'll also test it :D

If NVME is not there the drive simply wont work.

I've seen some nvme ssds running on this model, so it means the nvme protocol is activated?

If it's running then in that specific machine it is.

    Hi,
Just found out the keyboard on my XMG P505 / P651SE is only half working. Some keys I need to press multiple times before the keypress registers with Windows.
External keyboard works fine. Anyone familiar with this issue? I have heard sometimes these things can be caused by a swolen battery, might have to open it up to check it out.
    Thanks.

EDIT: Found some time to open it up. Battery is OK, not influencing keyboard anyway. Disconnected and reconnected keyboard cables, chopped strip of to get clean connectors.
    All no help.
