Slightly too much is better than not enough but practise a couple of times to make sure you get good coverage and are not putting on way too much. Remember that a bare die needs less than one with the metal heat spreader.

    Replace the thermal paste :D

I have the same model and I think the max CPU temp was 80º in peak summer. Now it's 75 I think, must test it :)
I might get better temps because I replaced my CPU cooler with one from the P651RE.

Where did you get the that new CPU heatsink? Is that alone a big difference?

Just bought it from Obsidian-PC, but it has to be modded to fit the P651SE.
I don't think it's worth it. Just did it because I was at the Obsidian warehouse and nagged João to perform this "upgrade".
But the cost is about 50/60€ plus, there is always some risk in cutting the heatsink to fit the P651SE.
    Here are some photos.
There was a thread in TechInferno that had the gains of changing the cooler, I think I saw a 2º drop.

EDIT: The price is getting better since I last checked the P650RE heatsink. Here is a listing.

Hi Guys, I´m here with an update:
I replaced the GPU+CPU thermal paste (Grizzly Kyronaut)
and I also cleaned the Heatsink of CPU+GPU as far as possible.
Temps during gaming are better now:
    Before: CPU +-99° C, GPU 80° C
    Now: CPU -+90° C, GPU 73° C
...I have to test it further
Without Intel turbo boost I got about 78° C.
this brings me to the point that I correctly replaced the paste but unfortunately it seems my CPU heatsink is broke?
For now I can´t find a heatsink for Clevo P651SE..

Edit: I'll try to undervolt the next days, maybe it helps. I'l use throttle stop but first I have to read some guides how to undervolt correctly.

Why do you think the heatsink is broken? Depending on your room temperature it might be a good value.

Thanks for fast response. The room temperature is ~ 23° C. Laptop stands on table made out of wood.

    Regards

Giving those room temps it seems a reasonable temperature. But wait for other responses.

You can improve it by undervolting. Just apply -40mv to CPU and Cache :p most i7 4th Generation can do it I think.

I'l give it a try asap. Will report. Do you prefer intel xtu or throttlestop? :)
How can I "stresstest" those settings? Benchmarking? I'
    not a friend of prime...
Sounds at least nice if you mean that's reasonable temperatures.
