    Thanks for making this thread!

I'm looking to get back into PC gaming after several years on the console side, and I'm trying to figure out these new Clevo models.

It looks like Sager is selling its new NP8658 built off of the P650RG (per Xotic PC: http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8658-clevo-p650rg-p-8654.html), but I don't see the P650RG anywhere on Clevo's website (http://www.clevo.com.tw/clevo_prodetail.asp?id=806&lang=en). The specs user moviemarketing listed for the SG seem to match the 8658 though.

Xotic PC also says that the 8657 is built off of the P650RE3 (http://www.xoticpc.com/sager-np8657s-clevo-p650re3-p-8678.html), but user jaybee only mentioned that he thought the P650RG needed to be fixed in the thread title.

Per Xotic, the dimensions of the 2 Clevos differs only in height (P650RE3 is .98", P650RG is 1.13"). I'm also seeing P650RG on other websites when I google it so I'm having trouble figuring things out. Can anyone clear the difference up between the P650RG and SG? Is Sager's new NP8658 actually built from the P650SG?

Any insight would be really helpful. Thank you!

edit: I mis-read jaybee's post, and thought he said the thread title should've been SG instead of RG..

@Allan23 Yes, Sager NP8658 is the P650RG, and NP8657 is the P650RE3. The P650SG is the older Haswell version (max 32GB DDR3 RAM) of the P650RG, which uses Skylake processor (max 64GB DDR4 RAM)

So far I've only seen P650RE6 for sale in Europe and Asia, so perhaps Sager will use a different model number for this one if/when they release it.

According to Power Notebooks and XoticPC, we may need to wait a while before P650RE6 is available in the US:

I've noticed that Clevo hasn't updated their site with all the newer models as of yet. Hopefully we will see that updated shortly, as they only have the skylake versions of the P75x and P77x models up now (since they were released earlier, I'm assuming). But these models should be shipping out very soon it looks like.

Hey guys, so I'm looking at getting the Sager NP8658-S. Swapping it for my Aorus X5 becuase it just looks too damn fancy.
I'm not bothered about sound quality because I'll either be using a headset or speakers, but I was wondering about heating issues as I don't usually use a laptop cooler or anything.
Another thing I was wondering about is the upgradability of the laptop? As Clevo is a barebones case, am I going to be able to upgrade it easily? Not too much of a problem if not as I think it's relatively future proof as it is, just a happy thought :)

    Cheers
