Though with quad channel you want to focus on overall timings as you have enough bandwidth, so if you sacrifice too much latency then 2400mhz is not going to help.

It's going to depend on your sticks.

@CaerCadar, you could have tried removing the tiny slotted star washers on the ends of the hold down screws and remove the springs, strech spings out a bit and ensure they are the same relaxed length. Then try remounting. This sould be the first step I would think. ......Did you get it working?

I went the lazy way and ordered a new one. But it won't arrive till mid January! :(

But I can do so and play around with the faulty one. Perhaps I'll have a good spare part afterwards! ;)

It's always good to have a spare to practice on :)

True. I don't start a project, if I don't have a spare or two around.

I do, but being in the UK I do seem to have much better access to rapid turn around/inexpensive repair options for any soldering or custom programming work.

Soldering and repair are the least of my problems, I have to import close to 100% of the parts I need. That's why it doesn't hurt to have spares around, it doesn't stop the creative flow, in case it doesn't turn out the way you want it the first time, or even the second.

Well these sort of parts always have to be special ordered.
