    That's like saying you always take advantage of a curve by drawing a straight line below it, you are missing out on boosts. But people need to understand that's a boost operating under limits.

    To me, the boost isn't worth the cost in heat and noise. Granted, I haven't messed with Boost since Ivy Bridge, but I very clearly remember then that the problem I constantly had with it was in games the boost is constantly playing tug of war with the thermal throttling profile of the laptop itself, which varies among brands. So what would happen is you'd get an increase in frames from the boost followed by an immediate sharp decrease in frames from the thermal throttling. The stuttering this would cause in games is unacceptable to me.

    Boost algorithms are now much smoother, the hysteresis is much better so less saw tooth clocks.

    Hi, i bought bn50tk1 and i wondering is it possible to upgrade gpu on this laptop?

    you are welcome. I don't know if i7-8700k could work in that model, maybe it is too hot

    With a modded bios an 8700 (non k) would work iirc which would be ok power wise.
