    I suspect this is to keep it in the same footprint as the previous 15.6" models, but would be interested to have it confirmed.

    That thin frame adds a nice bit of screen real estate and looks sharp. It would be a nice way to maintain the 15.6" class design and still add another half inch to the display.

    Indeed, you dont want to compromise cooling and internal capacity. However if you can shrink the bezels by using a larger panel that performs well and is priced reasonably then why not?
