What's the rationale behind it not working with the m18x r2? Is there something specific?

Has someone tried it yet? Maybe I should contact the PS manufacturer and ask if it will work with the m18x r2.

Just FYI, I've contacted Eurocom's technical support to ask if the Alienware M18X R2 will work with their 780W PS. It via email so hopefully I hear back from them eventually. I'll let you know what the verdict is.

It will work with the M18xR1 and R2 with a different power cable.

However it will not work with the 18 because it has an artificial 330w limit.

I'll let Eurocom answer your e-mail but I see no reason for it not to work with the M18x series as long as they provide the proper cable needed.

No ID chips needed in PSU for the M18xR1 and R2 ? Or is this more needed for latest AW 18.

I'm not sure. Eurocom will probably answer. I thought on the M18x series it didn't matter? Because when some people made the 2x330w converter box didn't that basically get rid of the ID chip detection?

I did the dual psu and the ID cable stil exists. If the laptop cannot detect it is a 330watt psu, then SLI/Crossfire is a no go. So when making the 2x330watt you cannot get rid of the ID cable.

This PSU also if it is not equiped with something that can trick the laptop its a Dell 330watt psu, it will not be able to function properly.
