I don't know your particulars, but the overall response on using HIDevolution is been far more positive than negative (but I live in the US, so the experience here may be different).

EVERY company is going to have an outlier of a bad experience here or there. What to look for is did they try to correct it and attempt to do right by the customer.

Try reaching out to them. Start a dialog... Express your concerns. From what I've seen over the years is that they are a stand up company. If they address your concerns, then good. If not, then move on.

If this is in regards to the Area 51m, FWIW, I would recommend asking what they can and cannot do with this model... Ask what other concerns you may have and see if they will stand behind their work. Then try to decide from there.

Not everything can be fixed from resellers. What they get from the ODM is what they have to throw out. A unlucky re-paste/pad job (they even apologized) doesn't fix what's wrong with the model.

And Dell with VP General Manager Azor still wash their hands and continue with thight lipps. Not a single word from them since god know.

Some have good experiences some not. I defintely did not. My 51m died and all they said was I’m better off going through dell since they will get me a replacement faster. Hardly sounds like amazing service to me after dropping almost 4K with added HID premiums. Frank Azor took care of me much better than HID did, and they even threw in big upgrades to my replacement for compensation

So here is a detailed analysis of the Lemon 2080 vs the Upgraded 2080, both of which I happen to have with my Area 51m. Let's look at the MOSFETs on both:

    Lemon DGFF RTX 2080:

    NCP-303151 specs:

    Upgraded DGFF RTX 2080:

    NCP-303150 specs:

Look closely at the highlighted parts in the specs. So you can see why old 2080s were blowing up! There is a HUGE difference between Vin MAX (30V vs 25V), VSW DC Phase (30V vs 25V), 5ns or below DC Phase (32V vs 25V) and conversion voltage max (20V vs 16V).

Now all of you guys who have RTX 2080s coming, pay close attention to these mosfets. You don't want lower spec mosfets in there as they'll have a greater chance of blowing up under load!

Data sheets for both mosfets for reference:

Looks like Dell was testing waters and found out through Guinea pigs that more high specced version was needed.
