Thermal throttling on the GPU that was implemented on every BIOS past 1.5.0. I would start with a good repaste, get that out of the way first, then if it's still doing it you can look into downgrading the BIOS, but I don't know if it's possible from 1.15, I have not tried it since 1.12 and that was dicey for me on that version.

hum... just had a few bad fps drops and stutters playing Destiny 2 which doesn't usually happen. checked temps in AWCC and cpu and memory clock had 777 listed on every gauge but GPU still was reading like normal. restart didn't fix it but re-installing OC controls did. all is normal again. hope that doesn't come back.

I created a new Overclock profile in Alienware Command Center, but the "GPU throttle point" option is locked, preventing me from changing from 75c to 87c. Any guidance on how to unlock this function?

Any idea if I can revive a battery ? Switched on the laptop an it reports battery experienced permanent failure. Battery wear is reported at 22% in hwinfo.

I took out an dell extended warranty in April an no were does it say battery is not included in the warranty.

Anyone had issues with there battery that bought this unit in early 2019? I.e aware of any battery recalls etc ? I never used it on battery but I know they still degrade.

If it's failed then that's it, the laptop won't charge it. Does it die when you unplug it? Batteries are only covered in the first year of the warranty, unless you have the special additional battery warranty, if that's even a thing anymore. Dell may be able to sell you a replacement, and if not head to eBay and look there, there is usually no shortage of replacement options.
