What specs did you get? The 2080 vs 2080 super isn’t that big of a difference. The 2070 super is just shy of a 2080 though. So that’s a nice bump up from before the refresh.

The real upgrade is the screens. A 300hz 1080p and a 4K panel are really nice and both can take advantage of the powerful hardware in this machine. I’ll be curious if anyone can get they’re hands on the new screens and upgrade the screens on the R1.

In complete fairness, this still _is_ an advantage of a an R1 as long as there are parts.

Very true. Hopefully dell has the motherboard and gpu’s for awhile for that to be a reality. Everything else can be bought 3rd party. But I’m worried they stopped making those modules unless they’re gonna offer them in the R2 also?

I expect you won't buy the GA. If you prefer be on old firmware you'll loose " Enhanced compatibility of the Alienware Graphics Amplifier for new generation graphics card". The nice thing with proprietary design:D You are forced to upgrade firmware to take advantage from it.

And I love this one... They promote Media card as a new needed feature for the modern gamers. Why not put it in when they designed the orginal? Media Card readers have been here for decades in all types laptops and from all brands. Even those sub $200 Jokebook models. Here, promoted as a must have feature. As something completely new.
