Nope. Intel doesn’t support PCIe 4.0 standards.

And I’m pretty sure Dell haven’t added in support for Rocket lake.
    Checked undervolt adjustments?

I like G-Sync. A high end GPU won't be high end forever.

But, are there technical reasons that would block the new cards from working on the R1 machines? E.g. a VBIOS stored on the mainboard instead of on the card, a heatsink incompatibility or perhaps the insufficient VRM (since the TDP on the 2080 Super increased to 250W)?

Otherwise, they said that they won't be offering this upgrade path, but the cards might still technically work. Somebody will try that sooner or later I guess, but these Super cards are probably not worth bothering, anyway.

Now, a DGFF Ampere card on the other hand.. Not sure how far ahead is the release of the mobile Ampere cards, but since they have to clear the Super stock first, probably won't be too soon.

How do you change that file to a zip file to get access to moving the thermal limit from 75?

Be brave, be like Spartan... [IMG]

Edit: I just tried playing Need For Speed Heat and the game was simply unplayable, it was very choppy and the FPS keeps dropping to like 15 FPS so the latest BIOS has the thermal throttling issue. I don't know how anyone could use this laptop with a BIOS other than 1.3.2 or 1.5.0, it is simply not useable!

Do you have SGX turned off in your bios? Are changes you make in the Alienware command center GUI actually taking effect?

CVE-2019-11157 is plundervolt so you should not be able to undervolt with this new bios if SGX is enabled.

...unless of course Dell botched this too.

I would like both honestly. 300hz is awesome and all, but you don’t always get that super high frame rate in games. Games like RDR2 you kinda need g-sync if want the game to look as smooth as possible. And let’s not forget CDPROJEKT RED has a habit of releasing games that crush current gen hardware. So CyberPunk 2077 will likely not run over 100hz on ultra. If that high. And those are the main types games I play so I’d love to have g-sync.

However I agree that once you get near that 200hz and over mark that G-Sync is pretty pointless.
