You're absolutely correct, you'd have to do a balancing act with the unified heatsink.

Sounds like it’s a good panel then. That’s always nice to see. Normally I expect a downgrade because and manufacturer found a cheaper alternative.

I’ve had some first hand experience with OLED with the Xps 15. And you are right it is an amazing panel tech. Colors are very vibrant and the pure blacks is outstanding. But I’m in the same boat that I need high FPS screens now. My trusty Acer Predator monitor is still holding up. Not much reason to replace it either.

Once something like the Alienware 55” oled monitor comes down in price and size I’d be onboard. I honestly feel anything over $1000 for a monitor is over kill. But that’s just one of those things that has been creeping up in price over the years.

Just a quick update: the replacement drive worked without a hitch. Must have been an issue with the original drive. Thanks again for the help.

The Chi-Mei pannel is very good. It's about 99% sRGB with a contrast level of about 1:1500. By default, white balance is slightly warm (unlike most laptop panels that are way too cool) and after calibration Delta E can be excellent. Not too bad for a 144Hz G-Sync gaming display.

FWIW I measured 98.something % after calibration. Interestingly I thought the panel was actually cooler than warmer before calibration...

Is there one? I was checking the AW site in the US and I don't see one listed personally... maybe I am missing it somehow?

Has someone experienced games crashing after installing BIOS 1.8.1?
