I think the important question here is what is your goal with a 9900K/9900KS?

9700K already performs well in games and runs cooler than 9900K.

What is your purpose for going 9900K/KS?

Actualy the KS was running cooler @4.7ghz and because why not I guess? I wasn't trying to pay arm and leg for 9900k at dell checkout

Depends on how much you tinker with that 9900k :p

I've seen some people hit 5.1-5.3Ghz on the 9700K in this laptop :D

I can do 5.3Ghz CPU-Z validation and 5.1Ghz bench max.

But I run at stock for everyday usage.

I remember paying +$450 from 8700 at dell checkout when I bought mine.

Considering the price of these CPUs at retail I didn't think it was that bad.

I run 5Ghz daily on the 9900k, it took a few mods to get the temps under control.

I only do it for benching purposes. I find 4.7Ghz vs 5.0Ghz not much vs. the amount of heat generated. Then again I haven't done any cooling mods.

I posted all the benchmarks with hwinfo64 temperatures, to show that it's doable to get 5Ghz at reasonable temperatures, albeit it takes effort.

Even for 4.7 lapping would do wonders :)

Yes, with Dell products the service tag is their 'serial' number...they just wanted to be different and they ended up confusing people.

Anddd back to normal we go, hope this is a good chip and hope the aw works well with it >< if things get to hot well I guess I'll settle on the special edition and return this run it at 4.7ghz call it a day. But I just couldn't see myself sticking with KS and not at least trying to see what I can do with the K to reach something higher than 4.7ghz [IMG]

Hey, new to the forum but was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a bricked Area51m where i get the two blue lights and one red light (BIOS Corrupt). I have a bios chip programmer but was wondering if anyone has a Hex or Rom / Bin bios of a working area51m i could use to program it? Or would anyone know the best way of going about getting one?
