Do you have a tracking number yet? What's your ETA? You might be the first person to get one...

Well played on getting yours shipped through at the lower price, did you have a discount code or do some haggling to get it as low as you did?

They are the same TDP but 9700k has lower temperatures and less power hungry than the 9900k.

The intel TDP ratings are kinda a scam imo since most of the processors don't confirm to it when boosting.

    I used a 10% student discount code.
I also used Quidco for another 6% which means once I get the cash back the total will be £1965

    I'd be looking at the i7 8700 (6 core 65W TDP)
    8GB Ram
    256GB SSD
    2070 8GB
    NO Eye tracking
    17.3" FHD 60Hz screen
    Lunar Light

    £2149 delivered.

Cheapest one available on the UK site, and the spec chosen a massive upgrade from the 6 year-ish old XPS 17 I'm still using now :D

Although the i7 9700k is only around £100 more expensive (and does have those 2 extra threads) the TDP jumps up to 95W from the 65W of the i7 8700 and I'd be concerned of possible thermal throttling or extra fan noise. Ram and SSD upgrades simple enough and always start a new machine off with a clean install to get rid of all the unwanted junk. W10 Pro also ordered at the time as I've been told its cheaper that way than buying an upgrade.

I also ordered pro. It’s only an extra £7 so well worth it. I regularly use Remote Desktop which is not available in home

Yes it’s unusual for anything to be cheap in Britain so it was a no brainer
