if i were to go 8.1 (non-pro), do i need a 3rd party start menu app or not?

if i do need a 3rd party start menu app which would you guys recommend?

EDIT: I still have some windows 8 keys from my dreamspark access... have to see if they will activate.

On my 8.1 systems - I have a 3rd party start menu app on about half of the systems. If you organize the "metro" screen - it works reasonably well as a start menu alternative. But if you don't want to deal with that - then use one of the 3rd party apps.

Hellooooo GTX 880m!! Alienware just updated their models for the Alienware 17 and 18.

Whats odd for the 17 is there is no more 3D display option.

Yeah, honestly that screen is gorgeous. I don't know why they would take it away :(

Good game, I'm really enjoying it at the moment. I've never really done online multiplayer gaming apart from a game that flopped called Nexuiz, which was a great game but buggy for some people, and had a really poor uptake. Titanfall is really fast moving & fast paced, I like the balance of it, the contrast between being in a titan and a pilot, the controls are fluid and intuitive, and it runs really smooth at 60fps on max settings bar x4MSAA - you should be able to run it on the same settings and fps on your 1920x1080 screen. You could even enable ambient occlusion in the NVidia Control Panel (I run it on 'Performance' for the ambient occlusion setting there).

Yooo thegh0sts, man I was just wondering when you ordered your Alienware 17 from the day it started production to the day it shipped out, since I just ordered mine the 14th of this month and it says it would be shipped the 2nd of April...so I was just curious to know how long it took production to the day it shipped so it would be very helpful for me. Thanks
