Hmmm very strange. I do not see it in drivers page with my "Service Tag", but when I've removed it I saw the firmware update.. For first time I see same models with different information. Thank you for provided information :) I am going to install it!

P.S. I just installed it and voila - "Based on the analysis performed by this tool: This system is not vulnerable. It has already been patched."

Thank you once again for telling me this! Have a nice evening from Bulgaria :)

    I am skylake user with i7 6700HQ.

Did you notice anything strange after updating?
I opened up the file to see if it flags my system as Incompatible. Luckily, the tool opened fine on 15 r2. Didn't run it. Do you get correct model no. while running the tool?

The tool is showing me the correct model and service tag for my laptop. Also I haven't noticed any stranges after the update. Everything is running as before :)

Okay thanks. I hope your model number shows 0x series in the left sidebar?

The update tool worked before and after I did the update on my R3 without incident - all data seemed to populate correctly. So far it is working normally since the update.

There was some one that pointed out that there is a way to pull the fans down by using this:

    1. Go into bios, Advanced>Performance Settings and set your power limits to 0, both of them.
    2. Use whatever software you use, XTU or Throttlestop, to increase the Power limits to what you would like them to be in windows.

This will keep your fans down when idle, just like they are when you boot into the machine with no overclock applied

This was a reddit post, and i replied to it, but somehow i cannot find the post right now. i will keep looking for it and credit the person who posted this

ok guys, credit where credit is due: https://www.reddit.com/r/Alienware/comments/7c4gxu/unlock_power_limits_on_any_k_series_alienware/

So my girlfriend managed to get a small splatter of nail glue (essentially superglue) on the palm rest of my laptop. Anyone know if there's any way to remove it without destroying the soft touch finish in the process?
