I still need to take my 13 R3 apart and see what the heck is going on with the cooling, I know the GPU fan is active but there is no air coming out of the rear exhaust and it spikes my temps to throttle point.

I have to run 3.0Ghz and -250 core to keep it in check. Hopefully today I can swing by the store and get the supplies I need to fix it.

"- Firmware updates to address security advisory INTEL-SA-00213 (CVE-2019-0086, CVE-2019-0091 and CVE-2019-0093) - Firmware updates to address security advisories INTEL-SA-00233(CVE-2018-12126,CVE-2018-12127,CVE-2018-12130 and CVE-2019-11091)"

New BIOS is strictly security according to the description. I'm not in a rush to upgrade personally.

    Hi,

I have started using foobar2000 for music playback (portable installation) based on a recommendation.

Before that I have been using MPC-HC64 for both music and films, but for music, foobar2000 has more options (e.g. skip silence and crossfade) and VERY low CPU usage (90% of time task manager shows 0 - 0.1%).
Now I use MPC-HC64 only for films together with SVP manager.

My question is: everytime my screen turns OFF (you know, OLED syndrome, I set it for 2 minutes and screen goes black) the music playback skips like one second when using foobar2000 playback. This is not happening with MPC-HC64.

HTF can I get rid of this small but extremely annoying 'sound skip'?

BTW. New 1.8.0. Bios is okey since 2 weeks ago I flashed.

    Hi, all

I caught a nasty virus causing freezes in some Windows menus and had to clean install Windows Home 1909 v18363 off Windows insider preview downloads.

I downloaded the image and made UEFI USB bootable with Rufus and as never before, on USB boot, I was getting message requiring me to turn off secure boot. One of the WIndows install files on the USB grew to over 4 Gb in 1909 so therefore the error.

I did a ton research how to bypass turning off secure boot, but none worked. This problem will not happen if you install 1909 using Windows tool as it has some certified stuff included which Rufus does not have.

In the end I gave up, turned secure boot off while installing in UEFI mode set to ON in Bios.

All went fine, after Windows installed, during the very first re-start (the one after the countdown) I entered Bios and turned secure boot back on and all is fine.

I thought that going from 1903 to 1909 did not need fresh install, but I was wrong. Compared to 1903 upgraded to 1909 by updates vs. clean install of 1909 now I see the diffference as all is really snappier. Especially in BF5 overall latency and screen tearing are MUCH lower.

Nvidia 436.51 Has the Low latency option and if set to ULTRA it works and shows, even with Optimus. I think that newer drivers after that are missing the option, but here is possible solution (thanx for input @dragondale13 from XtremeG).

    1. Nvidia 436.51 panel low latency off and pressed APPLY and in inspector current profile REFRESHED (see below)

    2. Nvidia 436.51 panel low latency ULTRA or ON and pressed APPLY and in inspector current profile REFRESHED (see below)

Setting ULTRA in Nvidia CP translates (and automatically changes) as 1 pre-rendered frame in Inspector.

So I will go for 441.08 (with missing Low latency mode setting in CP) and set Inspector to 1 and that is it (I hope). I will test and if it does not work, will come back.
