$290usd. Based on what Vasudev stated this might be a bad purchase. If it doesn’t give me any FPS gain albeit small, I will be disappointed:(. Then I will simply put them on my desktop computer!

290 USD is VERY GOOD price >>FF>> in Europe in year 2020 LOL

This page has info that should make you not regret buying HyperX 2666.

When iunlock who is really good and experienced with Alienware laptops tried your new memory and is happy considering it as the best choice and tested it and confirmed it, have no second thoughts.

    EDIT:

Post #170 has info what to do if HyperX memory does not get recognised after being swapped.

Yes. When I installed G-skill ram cards the initial boot up I had to hard power down the computer twice and then it booted normally. The same process I had to do when I installed the old ram cards back. Two hard shut down of the computer and then third time it boots up normal.

I'm inclined to agree, but I am struggling to identify the driver issue itself. I'm starting a spreadsheet of all the driver versions I'm using. The fact that it takes a couple days to show issues doesn't help.

Does changing the RAM make that big a difference over the stock RAM?

This is what we all are trying to see! Someone else bought the same ram cards as I did and hasn’t reported his results but if mine come in next week I will let you guys know.

    The GSkill 8GB 2666mhz I didn’t see any difference.

Seems the memory that came in mine was only 8gb 2400mhz x2.
