Someone did something similar somewhere in this thread (without paste, but used thermal tape)

I'd expect between 2 and 5c change max. Which is decent, but not worth the trouble if your max is in the 70's already. If you are hitting the 80's then go for it.

Anyone getting diagonal tearing on games? I am getting a tear top left to bottom right during playing games. I don't get this tearing when connecting to an external monitor. I've been looking at other threads and it seems it's common on these hybrid graphics drivers.

Are you running full screen mode and not borderless full screen?

Hey guys need some advice. Was thinking of buying a calibrator for the screen, but since I only use the laptop for gaming will it be worth it? Thanks.

    Hey all,

I am fairly seriously considering buying one of these to replace my current laptop, and I see that Dell's fairly regularly offering it at 10% + $119 off (comes out to $1535 for the i7 / 1060 / OLED with 8GB RAM 256GB SSD... I think I'll just buy my own RAM since it's cheaper and upgrade SSD when the 256GB becomes not enough). I'd hate to buy it and realize there are better deals around, so if anyone has any pointers I'd appreciate it!

You can haggle with sales on chat or by phone. Depending on mood and disposition of associate, you can get as much as 20% with a lot of patience.

Would also suggest that you don't hesitate long. OLED panels are in short supply, and there has been a report that Samsung will not make them for Dell anymore soon.

Oh I didn't realize that was the case (I guess I was hoping that if anything, OLEDs were going to become more common sometime in the future).

I might try to haggle with them on the price. I have tried it multiple times with various manufacturers and so far haven't had any luck but maybe I'm just unlucky in who I get.
