Hmm... so maybe I'll tak that risk if I have posibility to lower price (for now it's about 40$ for this card - still better than buy a new laptop :) )
I'll eventually share my progress if I will take that challenge :D

I hope you can get that 5650m to work. I bought one and it didn't work.

You have to know, from which laptop it was pulled. Maybe it will be necessary to flash vBIOS of the card. In addition, upgrade your sBIOS to latest version.

Cards from HP should work with our notebook. For instance, 6770M pulled from HP is just plug-n-play card. Or M4000. Thus, it should run without problems.

Even if its ROMless?: ATI 216 0810001 HD 6770M GDDR5 1GB MXM III Type A Laptop Video Card | eBay ( <- that is ROMless right? lol)

Ok so sorry about that! That was actually one of my questions as new person anyway lol ^

So, I've lived most of my life gaming on lowest setting.
And I refuse to give up on this laptop, its the first "High priced" item I bought as a kid lol.
So googling graphics card upgrades brought me to page 50, and I cant believe I finally made it to the end. Learned a lot.
    So the plan is:

Intel T9900 since its produces less heat
ATI 6770m easier to come by.
    8gigs of RAM
Cooling mods will just be taking everything apart, and cleaning it up, and under-volting the CPU since it cant be overclocked.

So my question is, these two 6770m:
    ATI 216 0810001 HD 6770M GDDR5 1GB MXM III Type A Laptop Video Card | eBay

HP Dell Alienware Lenovo Acer Gateway ATI Radeon HD 6770M 1GB MXM 3 0A GPU Card | eBay

They're both ROMless according to the pictures right?
I want to do this as easily as possible, but if I have to mod the BIOS I guess I'll have to! lol
If you guys have any tips let me know!

    Hello, cossh014!

Yeah, Both of them are ROMless, you have to integrate vBIOS in sBIOS or make a soldering mod. About processor - good choice! ;) You should buy this, or another SLGEE version!

Dang! The ROMed ones are atleast triple the price...
How involved is it to intergrate vBIOS in sBIOS? I know this might be scary me asking but I'd probably have my brother in law do it for me, he enjoys that stuff.
Or anyone selling a ROMed 6770m? PM ME!
And thanks for the link to the SLGEE, I saw that you said it runs cooler earlier so I'll be looking for those exclusively, thank you propolkins!

Here is a guide written by one of forum members.

About 6770M with ROM chip. Ask Meaker, maybe he still has this card. In addition, don`t froget about M5950 - that is professional version of 6770M. Also you should search version with ROM chip soldered. Professional version will run in games slightly poorly due professional drivers, but in professional software, such CAD or 3DsMax it will run better.

6770M and M5950 from ebay and aliexpress (ebay recommended for safety reasons):

    1. 6770M Link
    2. 6770M Link
    3. 6770M Link
    4. M5950 Link
    5. M5950 Link
    6. M5950 Link
    7. M5950 Link

Don`t forget about special X-mounting bracket, that is installed on some 6770M and M5950. It has to be removed with very caution, when card is bought. In addition, if you are interested in real performance, I recommend you M4000 or even M5100.

    You are welcome! ;)

HEY! Thanks for the guide! It seems so much more do able with the guide.

I didnt know that about the m5950, but I do mostly gaming and I think the 6770m is cheaper and probably a better move for me, so thank you for the links!
    I really want a m4000, but wouldn't the T9900 bottle neck it?
