Lately, I've become very annoyed at Office 365 - their continual pushing of bundled cloud features *cough*OneDrive*cough* has made it cumbersome and annoying to open/save files stored locally. At this point, I bet Office 2000 requires fewer clicks to get to the Browse window than Office 365 does, to say nothing of the various shortcuts that were added from Office 2003 through 2013 and then gradually removed/replaced with cloud offerings in the Office 365 world.

Thus, I'm thinking of switching back to traditional Office. I used Office 2016 before I switched to 365 and I'd be happy to go back, but what about Office 2019? Has Office 2019 been polluted by the push for cloud, or is it still safe?

I'm pretty sure all current versions of Office are at design/feature parity. You're just not paying for the subscription and OneDrive cloud storage.

Did you try pressing F12? It brings up the regular Save As menu instantly in most of the Office apps (haven't tried it in all of them).

I'm using Office 2019 without any worries. It's safe.
