I understand, guess better be careful & not rush this.
Apply tape on pin and then take a picture by phone or camera to avoid mistake
here an old photo of mine 8700K
Tried bro, still need that tool to apply the tape properly, I have bad eyesight.
Just found a nasty bug on every bios for Cooffeelake (and upper cpu) for this laptop.
If AVX offset is not set or set to "-0, -1 or -2", the IA AC/DC settings (that normalize vcore spikes almost as LLC) will be ignored and defaulted to 5/5 instead of right (actual) setting choosed.
So for a correct functionality of VR IA AC/DC avx offset must be set "-3" atleast
edit: wrong number
You, you to the rescue again!!
My update, I just received the magnifying tool, will attempt to cover those pads with Kapton tape then start the BIOS flashing process and set AVX to -3....want to boot the lappy first without issues.
There is confirmation that 9th gen cannon lake cpus will be unofficially supported on this bios, cpu ids have been included in the bios too thanks to @aaronne and @dsanke for letting me know. @dsanke may update the bios just incase any fixes are needed but this is good news for all of us!
Awesome to see this happening to the F5, fantastic job guys, keep it up. Any issues with this bios on the 120hz screen?
anyone tried this bios on MSI MS-16L13- MB Z270 Chipset. Would be greate to know if it will go without all this SPI programmer which is tricky. Another thing - anyone could share what other bugs are caused by this BIOS?
So far it is-
I'm pretty happy with this result.
Anyone is interested to try the 9900K now that it is out?
