I recently did a full clean install of windows 10 on my desktop which is about 1 year and 6 months old.
For some reason when i press the power button from a cold start it will either boot up and after posting shut down or go to the windows loading screen where the the dots circle and then freeze BUT it only happens the first time if i haven't powered up recently. After the first boot it and restarting it, it works perfect any idea why this is happening?

    What desktop do you have?
    CPU
    GPU
    RAM
    Which build of Windows 10.

Get those posted and maybe someone will have an idea of what's going on. Might be something as easy as toggle fast boot off, restart and toggle it back on in windows or clearing CMOS.

I had a problem with BSOD recently only on restarts, cold boots were fine. I figured out that it was Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX).
