Okay. Had a nap, tested again. According to device manager, it isn't installing like you want. You can see device deleted (DDU/safe mode) in the shot a few minutes before I installed:

I triple-checked I was copying from the correct folder even.

Edit: come to think of it... the first time (when 0002 and 0003 were present) I non-DDU, non-clean installed over the pure desktop driver 378.92, which didn't have 0001 in the registry for it. I wonder if that's why it defaulted to 0002 and 0003?

    Either way, *shrugs*

There's nothing wrong with the driver, once again you're installing stock nvcvi.inf.

Backup your game profiles -> Programs & Features -> uninstall nV graphics driver -> reboot into safe mode -> run DDU.

    Code:

Man... I don't even know anymore. Would you believe me if I told you I was copying the stuff into the wrong place every time, despite looking at the instructions AND my previous drivers?

Let's call me an idiot for today. I'm sorry I made you have to repack things twice. I legitimately was checking to make sure everything was right and it was just in the wrong spot in the driver folders >_<

You pretty much prevent this by deleting all unnecessary folders....:)

    Which model?...iGPU disabled?

Oh I did... I simply copied it into the root folder not the "Display.driver" folder.

    Like six times.

No hybrid power unlike MSI & AW laptops? Other non-optimus ASUS models (current ones)?

HWIDs -> Device manager -> Display Adapters -> Details -> please post both Hardware Ids & Events

As for hybrid power if I remember correctly when running from battery the VGA drops to GTX 1050 Ti performance and starts to decrease from there as the battery depletes...

I meant *NOS*, hybrid power/BIOS (AW) drawing additional power from the battery...a terrible idea.

    1) Programs & Features -> uninstall nV graphics driver -> reboot into safe mode -> run DDU.
    2) Disable driver signing
    3) Download GeForce 390.77 Win10
    4) Extract driver package (7-Zip) >> then delete the folders as shown below (don't skip this step) <<
    [IMG]
    5) Extracted driver package -> Display.Driver folder -> copy/overwrite both nv_dispi.inf & nvami.inf -> run setup.exe -> custom -> clean install option -> "Installation Successful” -> reboot.
