    Hello everyone,

After modifying the mdvmi.inf file, gets a black screen at the end of the installation with the latest nivdia drivers (472.XX)

With nvidia 466.77 driver, no black screen

do you have the same concern?

    my configuration is as follows:

    Ranger 17r1
    Cpu 4910qm
    Gpu 980M
    120 hz screen N173 HHE G32
    16gb Ram

471.68 does not give a black screen on my 980m with the rest of the specs in the signature. I did not try the newest driver yet, which I will try out now.

    Edit:
Tried the latest 472.12 driver in Windows 11 and Windows 10 - no black screens. I did not test it any further. I played a game in Windows 10 and the driver seemed stable, the game was not very demanding though. Are you sure you moddified the entry correctly?

    Thanks for your feedback.

Do you have the 60Hz or 120Hz screen?

Can you forward me your inf file. ?

Here you go :) My screen is 120Hz, but that should not matter.

Do you wipe the old drivers with DDU? At what point in the installation process do you get the black screen? What is the last thing you see on the screen before it just black? Do you get any error messages at any point?

All drivers before 466.77 work fine.
My problem starts from driver 471.11.
The black screen appears at the end of the installation (I have no error message).
I think this problem is related to the screen (N173HHE G32) or graphics card
I have the impression that it is deactivated at the end of the installation as if it was not supported

I would have liked the opinion of the processor of a 17R1 Ranger to understand

Or it could be that the modding of the inf is happening on the wrong Section ID which does have ties to screen edid fixes.
