Good video. I watched it last night (actually about 2:30 AM today, LOL) before going to bed.

I do not think many of us expect good things from Micro$lop, but the way new "features" are frequently (mis)represented--often by the media more than the Digi-Nazis--it sometimes sets the stage for disappointment and frustration. GPU Scheduling is one of those things that would have been best mentioned in an obscure white paper and something difficult to find detailed technical information through extensive Google searching because at this particular point in time it is 99.9% irrelevant and meaningless.

Nice hype to push people over on Win 10 2004 May Update:) Microsoft is damn good at this. Maybe @Mr. Fox remember Dx12, then the hyped Ultimate Power plan in Win 10 Pro workstation For a few more $$$$. And I’m sure Spartan loved pay that extra for that “nice” must have feature in Pro Workstation:D

Yes Microsoft screwed me with a $199 USD bill as I was so excited to see that extra performance from the so called memory optimization with the Persistent Memory feature only to discover later that it's for NVDIMM-N. After that, whenever I look at the mirror, this is what I see:

Even today, neatly 6 years later if you count the time with Insider guinea pigs, DX12 is not very important and DX11 often produces a better gaming experience. DX12 was the only reason some people switched to W10, and yet here we are now and DX12 is still nothing to write home about and W10 is no less screwed up than it was on launch day this month in 2015.

We should see a different picture when devs leave DX11 and below behind so they don't have to architect for multiple APIs.

I suspect so. It's inevitable at some point. But, I wonder how many more years that will be. I also wonder if they haven't already done only because DX12 is not a particularly stable API and DX11 and older are very stable. I can't imagine game devs will want to release buggy games on purpose, and that's probably all we're going to be left with.

What makes you say it isn't stable?

The number of games that run better, or don't have bugs, after turning off DX12.
