Merry Christmas everyone. I'm having an issue with no display on my machine. It Did it last night. I was able to remove battery and ac adapter, hold the power button, plug everything in and it worked fine. Today, I'm unable to get anything to show up on the notebooks display despite trying what worked previous.

It's blank, no back light, no pixels, nothing. I don't get a post screen and I don't get anything in windows.

I've also tried shutting the lid and opening it a few times to see if for some reason the lid open sensor was throwing a fit. This had no effect

I can, however, remote desktop in and view it from another machine. In Nvidia control panel, no displays show up.

So yesterday you did an EC reset effectively, does an external display work?

Very good chance the lcd panel just needs to be replaced. Are you using the stock 60 hz screen?

So long as an external display works then yes either the panel or cable needs investigating.

Doing it again. Was working when I put the thing in my backpack, took it out after having been powered off for 36hr. No display output.

If I plug into HDMI on external, bios screen displays on external. Device manager doesn't show integrated display. Nvidia control panel doesn't show integrated display.

Inspected display cable for fraying or loose connections and that was OK

Thinking about it, it only happens when I travel. The only change vs. Sitting in my desk, is my screen is closed for long periods. It sits open 24/7 otherwise and it used as a desktop.

Where/how does the screen close sensor work on this guy? Wondering if that's sticking

Magnet on the side of the display.
