Quick Question: Do any Linux users have first hand knowledge as to whether or not it's possible to change the color of the backlight (under Linux) on the keyboard in the NP9370?

I've been trying to get that functionality working on my NP9170, and I was curious to see if the NP9370 hardware was any different.

    Thanks!

It will use the same software so the limitations are the same.

That's weird because I think this is the same machine, but supposedly the backlight color can be changed under Linux:

I even contacted them, and they said it works under Linux. I must research further...

The keyboard in that link looks slightly different and they dont show any multi colors at the same time. Maybe they are using a different keyboard and in turn different software.

Ain't that Sager's new layout keyboard?

Now the software should be different, made it themselves probably? But couldn't get the multi color to work? Never found official Linux drivers from Clevo or Sager anyway. I even tried looking at their drivers page, but the P370EM/NP9370 is still missing. However the other models do have an hotkey driver already, so I think they will probably add them later.

Isn't that just done via FN keys:

    "Fn"+"*" for on/off LED keyboard.
    "Fn"+"/" for color change.

    ???

It's possible that turning it on and off, and brightness control are done by the fn keys only, but I'm sure you need the hotkey driver to change the colors.

According to one of their reps, they have a custom BIOS that handles the color changing without the need for the software. Plus, you might be right in that it won't do multi colors.
